She was very professional, and the pictures were okay, would go back, but would have done things s little differently

I left this photo shoot in TEARS - literally in tears. Our twins turned one year and the entire experience was horrible. It took 10 days of coordinating with the photographer to get a date. The weather and lighting were terrible (she said she couldn't do early morning when the lighting was better because she had foot surgery). Her "helper" was her husband who she was barking at the whole time. Our entire family was sweating, she had no concept of how to work with the subjects, she didn't recommend any different poses (e.g. maybe tell the client to take off their fitbit? or get the baby's hair out of their eyes? or turn a certain way for better photos? She instructed us in NO WAY, we were just wandering around while she fumbled with her new camera. THEN, to top it off, she said she would only agree to letting us have the pictures if we bought that same day WITHOUT seeing the results. Who does that? I can't even see a preview of the photos? At least ONE? Nope. I had to spend $150 just to get 35 photos. And to top it all off, I don't even get the photos without her logo spread all over the images. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this deal AT ALL. I have never been so disheartened and sad about a purchase in my life. Our twins will never be one year old again and we wasted our time and money on this amateur. Please, do not use this company for your photo session. I'm happy to share with you my photos so you can see for yourself. You'd be better off with your phone in your backyard. :( Devastating.

This client purchased the groupon saying she already had this photoshoot once and the photographer did not do a good job. She called in advance asking for previous work etc to make sure this photo session was what you she looking for. Unfortunately her account of this situation is untrue. Due to a disability which has left me retired at 30 years of age from a foot surgery complication my husband does accompany me or another assistant photographer in photo sessions if possible to carry gear/etc as I am suppose to be in a wheel chair but try to walk and to help with time for the clients. I have hosted pver 100 events with other photographers for over 5 years and my husband was a photographer for the UNCC newspaper so we often work together or have another assist . All photos are always taken by the hired photographer. I never do photo sessions alone with children if possible as most of our energy goes into capturing youth while they are awake and alert and the best images are natural and not staged so its better to be hands free and shoot ready at all times. I am not sure why this client thinks we have new equipment or her assumptions, but this is the first complaint we have heard from her since we shot months ago MAY and we no longer even offer groupon services. All photos come with a basic watermark as described on your groupon purchase and digital prints. Additional prints are extra. We used to and still on occasion offer the option where you may own the shared print rights of your images where you may make your own albums, creations etc without paying photographer pricing on all prints. This is something offered at the beginning of each shoot as we shoot in different formats to save time when shooting preparing for two sets of images and saves time and space again during post processing as we do not make duplicate smaller "digital" images with watermarks if you upgrade. By law it is illegal to print via another printer a photographers work as they own it and the rights to the image but we have found many want to make their own projects or buy prints as gifts and need ways to save oney. If found guilty of printing or having a photographers work printed a minumim fine is $250 by law per time the image is printed, so our package offering print rights to all images saved the client thousands of dollars if they wish to have many prints, books, etc. Most photographers make their income of selling prints not the service itself. We have to pay for classes, studio space (which we offered), lighting, software, hardware, computers, cameras, lenses and more. Due to this fact most photographers NEVER offer to even sell photos at high resolution. This client was told in advance of that opportunity, the fee etc and given a preview of some of the images to make sure it was a look she approved of. She opted not to buy the print rights but never complained about the images. She received over the amount of images that were promised by the groupon, 28 instead of 25 and we followed up multiple times with the client. At no point was she ever expressing dissatisfaction. After the shoot when she is claiming to be in tears we were having a positive text conversation where she was just worried about her appearance so there was no indication of an issue. We offer reshoots if we think the client is unhappy at no additional cost as we make our money from the prints and images and had no indication there was a problem until this post was read now at the end of August. There was no money spent minus the groupon package she purchased at $60 with a discount so I am not sure where the $150 for the groupon came from unless she is referring to the price of the print rights at that time. The client called complaining about her previous photographer when she booked the session which makes me think after reading this and never having heard from them in a negative light that this is not a client anyone could please. We do not suggest shooting in mid afternoon in the summer due to direct sunlight and the sweating issue, and with her already complaining about that in the evening shoot I am not sure there would have been a time that could be better in the North Carolina outdoors. We always remind clients to take breaks, bring towels, powder, and water to outdoor photoshoots, and provided this client with over 6 backgrounds and looks. I wish her the best but this review is not accurate. As we honor privacy I will not share her album but we more than encourage her to do so. Best wishes.

Wonderful experience! Kristin is professional and punctual and efficient and a plethora of other positive adjectives. She went out of her way to use my hour wisely and did a great job at making me feel comfortable. I can't wait to see the finished product, and I cannot say enough positive things about the experience. Will definitely use again.
