Located across the street from Luna Park and the New York Aquarium, Surf City belongs to an era of dog-day summers spent on the Coney Island Boardwalk, where saltwater taffy was plenty and ferris wheel rides were a must. White lamps cast a warm glow on the Italian restaurant's awnings, and neon words in the windows tell passersby everything they need to know about the place: pizza, gelato, cappuccino, desserts, spaghetti. Also part of the restaurant's charm: its Zoltar Speaks fortune teller, forever stationed in a booth right outside the front door.
