Napolitanos Brooklyn Pizza, Cranston

Napolitano's Brooklyn Pizza is the sort of place that calls tomato sauce "gravy." It's the sort of place that makes its own fresh mozzarella and cures and smokes its own bacon. In short, it's an authentic pizza place. Chef-owner Christie Flanagan, a native New Yorker, is dedicated to establishing her handmade, 18-inch pies as tops in Rhode Island.

Thus far, she's made great progress, with the Providence Journal declaring that "Flanagan’s homemade crust is both tender and crispy and cooks to a golden color. Her sauce is bright and non-acidic and her selection of mozzarella creamy and pleasant. Her version of Margherita is just wonderful." In addition to pizza, Napolitano's is known for its garlic knots, massive calzones, and broccoli raab with housemade sausage.
