Steel Restaurant & Lounge borders on the theatrical. The dining room itself glows golden, with track lighting overhead casting a spotlight upon each and every table and booth. At one end of the space, a sushi bar stretches from wall to wall—a stage upon which chefs artfully plate maki rolls, sushi, and nigiri, with abstract artwork behind them and a sake display to the side complementing their performance. And while the rest of the kitchen staff works behind the scenes, their modern interpretations of classic Indochinese dishes like drunken noodles and mango-crab spring rolls appear on many a table, further decorating the restaurant in colorful, contemporary, Asian-inspired flair.
