About Jail Break Code 9

Jail Break Code 9 doesn't need to create any special rooms for its unique escape games. Instead, it set up shop inside a real 1876 jail house for maximum realism. Once inside, guests will have just 60 minutes to figure out a way out, battling not only their wits but their fears. Scenarios—which are not intended for kids—utilize lights, sounds, and props to heighten each experience.

  • Revenge of the Barker Mob: You'd think that after the feared Baker crime family was finally apprehended things would quiet down. But it doesn't take long before they concoct a scheme to not only bust out, but take the whole town hostage. From their jailhouse base they are rounding up citizens for torture and execution. Citizens like you. If you hope to escape their reign of terror you'll have to find hidden puzzles and crack enigmatic codes before they reach your locked cell.
  • Dr. Rubenstein's Human Experiments: When a brilliant government scientist goes rogue, no one is safe. Rubenstein has set up a secret base inside the Old Paulding County Jail, and each night releases bands of mind-less zombies. Captured passersby can expect a fate worse than death as he subjects them to his inhuman experiments. When you and your team stumble upon his plot, you'll have to race against the clock or become part of his growing zombie army.
  • Interviews with Butch: A job interview goes horribly wrong when you and your team are knocked out cold. When you wake up, you're in the county jail. Handcuffed to the cold, steel bars. You'll have to work together to make your escape, lest you die lost and forgotten in the old dungeon.

I enjoyed it. Some in our group didn't like it as well since you all start somewhat seperated and not able to work in a group from the start. It was a very challenging escape room. I would do it again

This place is run by volunteers. They are raising funds to renovate the jail. Super cool. Things to know before you go: We went in February and it was FREEZING inside the escape room. You could literally see your breath. Wear a coat inside with you. They also played incredibly LOUD circus music and had people dressed as circus characters walking around smacking the cell bars. It was nearly impossible to communicate effectively. Keep that in mind when booking. We drove about an hour to get there and they don't have a working bathroom in the winter. So we had to get back in the car to go to a gas station to use the restroom before we could do the room. Even though their FAQ page says there is a restroom. The place also really reeked of cigarette smoke. As for the Escape Room itself, there are no clues, as stated on the website and it was pretty difficult but not impossible. I would give the overall experience a 6/10. But what they are doing to raise funds is cool and it was neat to see the inside of the jail.

This was my first escape room experience I don't have much to compare it to. A few things I didn't like when we first entered we were all put into different cells and only 2 of us played the game for the first 20 minutes while the rest of us was locked up, shackled, hand cuffed, we contributed nothing until 2 people figured out the series of clues only they had access to. Plus it was REALLY COLD!
