Though Jim and Dee Brown devote most of their time to caring for horses, they actually share a love for all animals. Amid the covered arenas, stalls, and shady trails that dot their 35-acre ranch, visitors may also see a family of piglets scrambling for an apple core or catch a glimpse of Jeffrey the rooster as he drives by in one of the facility’s antique carriages.
To help better the bond between beast and man, Jim and Dee lead lessons, camps, clinics, and seminars aimed at both new and experienced riders. Lessons may cover everything from horsemanship and problem solving to driving or riding hunt seat, and students may bring their own steed or use one of the facility’s well-trained lesson horses. The Browns' ranch is also a full-care boarding facility, welcoming horses for extended stays that include twice-daily meals of hay and grain, care by an onsite manager, and comfortable surroundings in a stall board, pasture board, or private suite with jacuzzi tub.
