For those debating purchasing, be warned there is no tour. “Brewery experience” apparently means ordering a beer in a room attached to the brewery and getting a t-shirt. Our party of 4 would have been really upset driving an hour just to order beers & a koozie. But employee, Wade, gave us vouchers to go next door for a tour at Western Son, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Only way it was worth it.

From Our Editors

When John Straits and Evan Batt opened Whistle Post Brewing Company, there was one thing they—and the media—knew for sure: the location was key.

"The men behind Pilot Point's Western Sons Distillery expanded their sphere of influence as the booze barons of Denton County by launching Whistle Post Brewing Co. . . right next door." – Dallas Observer

"Whistle Post is, by many accounts, an homage to its location. The name was derived literally from the brewery's location near the railroad tracks where patrons will intermittently hear conductors blowing their whistles as trains pass through downtown Pilot Point." – GuideLive

"In terms of brewery particulars, the 5,000 square foot building that houses Whistle Post was built from the ground up. A climate-controlled taproom occupies less than half of the area allotment, with production space taking up the rest of the available room." – Beer in Big D
