Beginning in 2001 as a small fitness operation in the basement of an office building, Pure Barre has since blossomed into a widely acclaimed, widely publicized approach to exercise with a nationwide following. Dancer, choreographer, and fitness buff Carrie Rezabek Dorr founded Pure Barre more than a decade ago in Birmingham, Michigan. Since then, Carrie has traveled around the country, hopping from gym to gym to demonstrate the innovative program that draws techniques from ballet.

Much like angering a witch with a penchant for frog spells, performing the Pure Barre technique can be a fast and effective way to transform your body. Motivating music slices through the 60-minute workouts, each of which utilizes a ballet barre and small isometric movements designed to burn fat and tone muscles.

such an amazing place! bought the groupon as a fun idea and way to workout with friends. I had no idea what a great sense of community and support I had found in pure barre dr Phillips! great workout no matter what your fitness level or previous experience! highly, highly recommend!!!

I really enjoyed the class and I’m glad I bought the Groupon, however I purchased the Groupon for the 10 class trial option. That choice was much more my style versus the month unlimited so I was disappointed to find out that they only do the month unlimited. I brought my disappointment up to the lady who checked me and and she said it was the better deal because the 10 classes had to be used in 30 days. From my point of view the 10 classes should have been over a longer period (and that’s what I thought and why I got the Groupon) with my work schedule it’s so hard to be consistent with traditional month membership. I think that Pure Barre needs to change the option to just unlimited month so people don’t mistake the 10 class option. Again I enjoyed the class and I will continue to go back for the rest of my now unlimited month membership, I just know that I will be doing less that 10 classes which is a huge bummer expecting 10 classes when I bought the Groupon.

The staff was so very nice. It can be intimidating to start something out of your comfort zone but they were so kind and friendly. I am looking forward to my next session.
