Danfords Hotel & Marina, Port Jefferson

When we got to Danfords we were really excited. I had brought my wife and daughter there for my wife's 40th birthday. They were gracious enough to upgrade us to a nicer room free of charge. It gave us a much better view of the bay. Where the problem lies is there was dog poop on the balcony. I notified the front desk and they said that they would send house keeping to clean it up. We went out to dinner and came back a couple of hours later and the dog poop was still there and it stayed for as long as we were there. Upon checkout the front would not or could not do anything to compensate us for that experience. They said that they would upgade us if we stayed again. I don't see that happening though.

Wonderful dining, and spa treatments. Rooms were nice and clean. Front desk staff were not that friendly.

Dear whom it may concern at Groupon, I had heard wonderful things about your application/service but had never embarked on signing up and purchasing anything. One day I received I link from my boss showing me that there was a Groupon for the place I had stayed at the night I asked my fiance to marry me a year ago. When I showed up for the date I had booked thinking I had two nights for $131.00 I was surprised an angered that I had only one night due to the coupon I had printed out. I had called the Danfords hotel ahead of time and spoke to them and gave them my confimation code thinking I had a two night deal for the price priviously mentioned. They said I had paid for one night in a suite. I asked to down grade to a regular room because that is what i thought i purchased on your site. I was told by the woman at the front desk, Nicole that she would work it out and not to worry about it. She said she couldn't move our room because of the busy holiday weekend and high volumn of groupon coustomers at the Danfords. For her understanding and graciousness, my fiance and I purchased her a gift on our day out, the following day. At the end of our lovely vacation I had to spend an extra $200.00 because of the confusion I experienced on your website with no way to go back and fix it. I just want to let it be known that I will never use your site again and will inform others (friends and family) to be wary of your services. I know this also is to blame on the manipulation of the people working at Danfords in Port Jeff but I am very upset with the service I received. Thank you for you time, Jared Dowd

It was very noisy due to work being done on grounds . We found it hard to sleep in because of this.
