Namaste Himalayan Restaurant, Edgewater

Even though Namaste Himalayan Restaurant opened its doors recently, it's already making a name for itself thanks to a flavorful menu of Indian and Nepalese specialties. Indian favorites include chicken tikka, which is marinated in masala sauce and seared in a mesquite-fired clay oven, or tandoor. Nepalese street food comes in the form of charbroiled lamb skewers and potatoes cooked in a spicy red herb sauce (alu dum). Plus, there are plenty of entrees for vegetarians, including Nepali-style mushroom chili and Indian cheese simmered with peas and curry.
