The nachos are very good! And it's a very large plate that can easily be shared by 3 people. Service was Alicia was exceptional. She is a very happy, bubbly, friendly young lady! Thank you Alicia - you made our dining experience that much better.

I ordered a sampler tray full of their seasonal brews vs. their standard brews. My tray came out to $15 instead of the listed menu price of $9. The server wasn't sure about the increased cost, nor did I see it mentioned on the menu. Had I know that, I would have just ordered a pint @ $6. Other than that snafu, my experience was comparable to other pubs in Edmonton.

I have eaten at the Brewsters on 116st/104 ave on wing nite. The service has always been excellent and food and raspberry beer excellent. Last night we used the coupon at the Castledowns Brewsters. Though the food was fine, the service was very slow, 2 ladies who came in after us got their drinks and food way before us. I asked 3 times for some catchup and never got it. Where we were sitting there was a draft blowing on us and unfortunately we got unpleasantly cold. Since everything was taking sooo long I asked for a Mud Pie dessert to take home and the bill. We proceeded to travel home immediately,( we live about 2 mins from Brewsters), it is -18 and I get home and my dessert is melted.???

I have been to the Oliver Square location without my children and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The service at the Castledowns location was disappointing. There was next to no one in the restaurant and still we found ourselves waiting to be attended to by the server. For the most part, the food was really good. However my wife found something in the bottom of her Pad Thai, which she was enjoying until that point.

From Our Editors

For more than 20 years, the brewers at Brewsters have handcrafted small batches of ales and lagers with the same eight-step process. The path from malting to filtration results in 10 original beers, including the crisp Flying Frog Lager and the hoppy Vampire Republic Czech Pilsner. This process also yields an ever-changing selection of seasonal beers, which range from fruity ales to German-style hefeweizens.

After they're funnelled through thoroughly sterilized draught lines, Brewsters' brews fill everything from bottles and kegs to the newly launched 1.89L growlers. Beers are also available in pints exclusively at the brewery's restaurant locations, including the newly reopened Castledowns location, where cooks complement pours with inventive pub food. Here braised short ribs perch atop poutine, bacon marmalade coats local bison burgers, and Hammerhead red ale mustard tops flatbreads.
