About Sun City Craft Beer Fest

For those who feel the gnaw of indecision when looking over the beer section at the liquor store, fear not: the Sun City Craft Beer Fest offers small tastes of many brews without buyers having to shell out money for a six-pack. More than three dozen craft breweries from across the country will be dispensing foamy pours of their wares, totaling more than 200 beers for the tasting. Local restaurants pair bites with the beers, unlocking such unusual flavor combinations as dumping an entire porter into a bag of corn chips. At the onsite brewing area, expert brewmasters demonstrate the techniques of homebrewing and hose down onlookers with hot wort. Aside from the main attractions, activities include displays by artists and sets by local bands.

I did not get my sample beer tickets and some tents ran out of beer in the first few hours....

I stood in line for 2 hours to get my first taste. Good idea to have it but maybe next time plan for more people.

1. the lines were entirely too long and I would have like to have seen a more efficient way to sample beers. 2. i've been to other beer fests and i did not have to pay for samples. 3. i would have liked actual breweries there to showcase their beers, kind of like the wine fests in the area.

The fest was highly unorganized. Lines for beer were not only entirely too long, but also created a safety hazard for attendees by limited walking space and/or anyone utilizing a wheelchair, crutches, etc. Signage for beer was not visible, samples were not given to Group-on users, and when I arrived at 3pm vendors were already out of several beer. I had one beer and left. If I had pain $90 to get in for myself and my husband, I would have demanded a refund. It was extremely disappointing. Going to larger Octoberfest style events in other cities such as Dallas and even smaller scale such as the Las Cruses fest, I was amazed with the price, organization, lack of staffing, and overall fes
