Photographer Kathy McGarry doesn’t want her subjects to feel unprepared. Before snapping memorable shots of family gatherings, newborns, or kids of all ages, she walks clients through the ins and outs of what to wear and makes recommendations for appropriate locations. Based out of Encinitas, she enjoys access to scenic San Diego North County and knows the best spots along the beach to strike memorable poses.

I would HIGHLY recommend Kathy from Grace and Joy Photography. I scheduled time for my son and I to have pictures taken, he is very photogenic, I am not thus dont like having my photo taken at all. She had great suggestions on locations and even let me email her outfit ideas that would compliment the location making better pictures overall. More than that though, she just carried on nice conversation and we felt we had known her for years. The hour went by so quickly and after it was over I realized I had been so comfortable I didnt even feel like I had been photographed. It was a very nice experience and I think if anyone is thinking about a family or kids picture...have it done with Kathy

Kathy was absolutely amazing for my family. Very personable with the kids and took the time to get great shots. There were so many excellent shots that it was really difficult to narrow down my favorites. i would highly recommend Grace & Joy photography and would use them again in the future.
