About Cochran Mill Nature Center
Shhh . . . if you use your outdoor voice at Cochran Mill Nature Center, you don't know what you'll miss. The private, not-for-profit environmental education facility is situated on 50 acres of territory with several pathways for explorers. Keeping your progress at a low volume while traversing these pathways is the best way to ensure some wildlife sightings. Follow the miles of heavily wooded hiking trails from the Nature Center to the waterfall, passing over bridges and ponds and past intricate outcroppings on the way. Visitors can also participate in the center's hands-on learning activities, and attend events such as family gatherings and day camps.

It's a beautiful area for hiking and the lectures about the birds of prey and the reptiles are great fun.

Took my granddaughters, ages 11 and 7, and we had a great time! They have several animals inside along with some birds of prey outside.
The facility is clean!! The gift shop us very reasonable as far as gift shops go.
Make sure you buy some fish food! It's only a dollar for a snack size bag and feeding the fish was the highlight of the trip. We started just feeding the many Bream in the pond along with the turtles, but then...wow, huge carp came to join in on the fun...like two to three footers! It was a blast for the money spent!
