Campbellton Landing‎–Fayetteville, Fayetteville

Licensed U.S. Coast Guard Captain Freddie Mims ferries passengers down the historic Cape Fear River on guided boat cruises, during which tour-goers learn about the river's history while taking in scenic views of the region. Mims and his staff of licensed captains pilot small, flat-bottomed riverboats equipped with canopy covers to provide shelter from rain, the heat of the sun, and cannonballing waterfowl with poor aim. As they navigate long, winding stretches of the waterway, boats pass under old stone bridges before coming to old locks and river dams. Cruises range from brief excursions to Rockfish Creek to longer voyages as far downriver as Wilmington.
