Be polite, patient, alert, brave, respectful, and do your best. These are the six principals that instructors at American Masters Martial Arts teach to every student who comes through the door. Each class begins with a recitation of these principals before meditation. This instills a sense of purpose and discipline in each pupil, which is as crucial to the instructors as the self-defence techniques they teach during classes. As for the courses themselves, the studio focuses on taekwondo, hapkido, kung fu, kobudo, and tai chi. American Masters also offer yoga classes that focus on the mind, body, and spirit during therapeutic sessions that can improve posture, alignment, and movement.
