I left my “take home” box on the table (my fault), but when I returned 10 minutes later (their fault) The had thrown my “take home” box away. No apology was offered.

Excellent service from start to finish. Party was 2 gossipy ladys catching up. Appetiser delayed due to kitchen blip, not noticed by us till a complimentary soup apology arrived and we were told. Food was excellent quality and well presented; but the service can not be bested.

Place was beautiful but not for people just looking for appetizers and drinks. The portions of the appetizers were rediculous. You get 6 little stuffed dates that were no bigger then a quarter each. Charcuterie board with only 1 choice of meat and 2 cheeses is not a charcuterie board. For the high prices, I will go else where from now on.

My husband and I love this restaurant. It is quite pricey (for the area) when you go for dinner, but the food and service is worth every penny. The small plates during happy hour are delicious and super affordable for a routine night out.

bartender/waitress....criticized 'house wine' and tried to shame our table and several others around us into buying higher priced (bigger tip) drinks. She was asked for WATER (very clearly) after first glass of wine and then came back and poured another glass of wine into our 'used' glass (making it socially difficult to say: "I asked for WATER...not a second wine". Was very insincere in fake gracious conversation....customers really don't want to know what her personal life or eating preferences are UNLESS asked for advice. Restrooms need to have toilet paper put into holder---not left on back of stool

Always a great time at Jay’s! Excellent service, delicious food & love the drinks. We always make a point to go on Wednesday’s to enjoy the all night happy hour & tapas in the bar. The live music never disappoints. Jay’s is a favorite in Old Town!

From Our Editors

Downtown Fort Collins is typically a blur of activity. In that whirlwind of concerts, festivals, and special events, however, at least one thing has remained constant: Jay's Bistro. For decades, it has dished out gourmet seasonal cuisine—first helmed by original owners, Jay and Jacki Witlen, and today under the steady direction of Norm and Wednesday Vogel. At least four nights per week, live music from the piano lounge supplements the bistro's inviting atmosphere. As it does, visitors browse the extensive wine list and feast on chef Rhys Edmunds' creations, such as:

  • Mandarin chop chop salad (Lunch): Light but filling, this salad features grilled chicken, mixed greens, peanuts, and mandarin wedges all linked by a sesame ginger dressing.
  • Pan-roasted Colorado striped bass (Dinner): The name says it all, and it's served with a clam-chowder sauce and crispy potatoes.
  • Lobster pot pie (Lunch, Mon-Fri): A hearty treat packed with Maine lobster, carrots, peas, onions, celery, and lobster cream
  • Wild boar tacos (Tapas): These reside on the bistro's capacious tapas menu, served with lingonberry preserves and a cranberry slaw.
