If you go on a fishing charter and you don't get a single bite the entire trip is it valid to leave a negative review or just the luck of the day? You decide. (It was a nice afternoon on the water)

Capt. Russ & His mate Russia are Reel Guys! Down to earth and informative. Took my wife out for her birthday. It was a rough day on the water. Russia kept busy rigging lines an putting out Fresh bait. That effort landed us some keeper kingsfish. Was hoping to catch more but that’s how fishing goes. Reel fishermen know that. Will try drift fishing next. Highly Recommended!

My husband and I were so disappointed with our fishing trip. We have gone on charter fishing trips several times in the past so we have a few experiences to compare with. The captain and first mate put little effort into making our trip a positive experience. They spoke to us as little as possible from the moment we arrived. The boat is set up with 6 fishing lines that are all controlled by the first mate. You only get to actually "fish" when it's your turn. On our 4 hour trip we only spent a few minutes actually holding a fishing pole. The boat itself is quite old and the interior is literally falling apart. Tipping is stressed from the beginning and I would have had no problem leaving a good tip if any effort was made toward the guests. I think the captain of this boat has forgotten that this type of business is not just about catching fish. If you go to a restaurant, you expect more than to have your server throw food on the table. You expect good service and charter fishing is no different. I would not recommend this vendor and will not make a return visit.

The crew seemed genuinely annoyed but were very sarcastically nice. We told the first mate on more than one occasion that a fish was on line because he was too busy up top with the captain toward the end of our trip. Also be warned that upon pulling back into dock the captain will come down, block the exit, tell you the appropriate tipping amount and that now is the time to give that tip.

I caught a kingfish and my bf caught one along with a nice sized tuna. It definitely wasn't easy, but was so much fun! The staff helped with the reeling pace and clarifying what type of fish were out there. We started hitting some high waves so had to come in a little early, but it gave us time to get some of our fish cooked at a nearby restaurant. The best tasting fish ever. I can't eat the super market stuff anymore.

From Our Editors

South Florida's waters teem with fish whose visual splendor rivals the tropical landscape above—mahi-mahi with chartreuse sides, grouper covered in glimmering bronze scales, and sailfish with long, flowing dorsal fins. Manning a 46-foot Hatteras sport-fishing yacht, Fish On Board Charters' captains take passengers on fishing charters to catch these eye-enthralling trophies. On 4- to 6-angler trips that range from half-day outings to all-night swordfishing, they utilize both offshore trolling and bottom-fishing techniques. Crewmembers clean anything caught, as well as supply all bait, tackle, and ice. Tap water is available, and alcoholic beverages are welcomed so long as they're not shared with squids younger than 21. In addition to fishing trips, captains also charter scenic cruises along South Florida's tropical coastlines.
