34 dollar Groupon but 14 dollar taxes.. I tipped separately also and understand there’s additional taxes but it doesn’t add up. Also, my lashes well within the same week which made everything even more disappointing. The tech was nice but wouldn’t return.

Great experience with eyelash extensions at Sumi. Service was friendly, professional and quick and the ambience was lovely. Highly recommend!

Very relaxing, would go again

Should have read more reviews elsewhere (not just on Groupon) and trusted my gut and walked away the moment I stepped in. I believe the technician that did my eyelashes cut my eyeball (more below). I needed to get my eyelashes done on a short notice, so Found this place, sumi (financial district ), quickly on Groupon and gave it a try. The appointment itself was delayed - i was late10 mins myself then when I got there , waited another 15-20 mins because they told me I never confirmed my appointment. Which makes no sense because the text message I received from them says “you cannot reply to this number”. Hence my low rating on their “appointment/signing in organization.” Now the concerning part is this - when the technician taped my right eye, she didn’t do a very good job. I felt something , a discomfort, on my eye/lid. I didn’t know or think it was something for me to be concerned about and it wasn’t something so painful for me to say something. looking back now, I should have 100% said something. After the service, my right eye was irritated and red, and I felt something on the top of my eyeball, but that irritation went away a little after fanning it (and I needed to run also - I had spent 2 hrs there). Then the next morning when I woke up my right eye was entirely red and felt a bit of sting. I attempted to put my contact in and immediately started stinging and hurting. The entire day my right eye has been irritated , stings at times , and a litte pain , this discomfort on the top corner of my eyeball - you feel there’s something on your eyeball. Based on the discomfort of the tape during the procedure, the irritation/sting when putting on my contact, and this pain/thing I feel on my eyeball, I believe my eyeball got scratched (hence the immediate pain the second I tried to put a contact in). This was a very disappointing service/appointment and I will definitely not risk returning to sumi, regardless of the price or how much discount they give. I also want to add, the cleanliness was so so. I’ve been to other places to get my eyelashes done and all of them appear cleaner than this place. I should have turned around and walked away.
