About Tropical Café

The staff at Tropical Café patrol the restaurant’s perimeter constantly, spears in hand. They’re not on guard duty, though. Rather, they’re servers, carving off portions of freshly roasted Brazilian barbecue. They stop at every table, offering their savory cargo to diners who have flipped their personal dining card green side up, indicating that they might be in danger of consuming plant matter from the extensive salad bar if more meat does not arrive soon.

The taste of culture doesn’t stop at the barbecue, however. Tropical Café fills weekends with live musical performances of South American and Brazilian folk music.

Food was delicious and fresh!! Portions are generous. My husband and I had enough for 3 meals with leftovers! Highly recommend.

The service was friendly, attentive and informative for those who have never had Portuguese food. Bread was warm and tasty will the garlic Olive oil dip. Salad was fresh with a slice of beet. The restaurant seems to specialize in COD fish so we got a baked COD casserole dish with potatoes. Tasty. Little neck clams appetizers were goof. The seafood rice entree with Lobster, Shrimp and clams was delicious. Overall, I am glad I tried this restaurant. It was setting up for a live band performance for that night...maybe next time, We would have a late dinner and listen to Portuguese music.

The chicken and shrimp salad was fresh and fragrant with an abundance of chicken and shrimp. The collard greens were light and delicious, not heavy with butter or oil. Tasty pork rib appetizer with a touch too much salt. The flan was the best I've ever eaten and I make it all the time. Friendly service.
