It's one of the largest nurseries in Kentucky, with over four acres of greenhouses at its Frankfort location, plus Sage Garden Cafe, an on-site, garden-to-table restaurant. Wilson Nurseries in Lexington has a distinct urban vibe, with the same high-quality plants & gardening supplies.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business? Wilson Nurseries has a long history in the Bluegrass and has been adding beauty to Kentucky's landscapes for more than 35 years. More recently, we opened Sage Garden Cafe at our Frankfort location & also opened the doors of our Lexington location to the public.

What do you love most about your job? At Wilson Nurseries, we're surrounded daily by lush & lovely greens, plus flowers in every color under the sun. Kentucky's distinct seasons are always on display in our greenhouses. Our goal is to help people add beauty to their own gardens & landscapes & also to assist them in discovering the satisfaction of growing their own fruits, vegetables & herbs. As employees, we're especially lucky to enjoy the sights & scents of beautiful plants every day.

What is the best reaction you've ever gotten from a customer? So many people stop by our greenhouses during Kentucky's cold winters to "soak up some green." We've been told -- on more than one occasion -- that our greenhouses are their happy place.
