The Belle Grove Plantation is many things. It's the birthplace of James Madison, America's fourth president. It's a sprawling estate set on 694 acres overlooking the Rappahannock River. And it's a charming bed and breakfast.
Each room is named after a family that owned Belle Grove, and each room contains antiques from the period that its namesake family lived in. Guests here enjoy breakfasts in the formal dining room or out on the riverside balcony.
The historic Virginia landmark also makes a grand background for various events throughout the year, from festivals, historic house tours, weddings and other special public events.
