About Yaga's Cafe

Yaga's Presents keeps web surfers abreast of special deals and upcoming events taking place on Galveston Island. With a quick glance at the company’s website, readers can check online menus for area restaurants, such as Float Pool & Patio Bar, Beerfoot Beach Bar, and Yaga’s Cafe, or peruse upcoming events, including the winter Chili Quest championship. Yaga’s Mardi Gras! Galveston celebration brings the thrills of the Big Easy's elaborate festival to Texas with themed costumes and parties. In autumn, the Galveston Island Wild Texas Shrimp Festival honors one of the ocean’s most popular foods with three days of eating, boat shows, and live music, the only force known to keep party-crashing krakens at bay.

This year's event seemed like a downgrade from last year. Last year, we got tech shirts and medals (which were oversized bottle openers, but super fun). Also, I don't like that we're restricted to macro beers. As this is hosted at a local brewery, we should get beer brewed at Beerfooter after the race. I can get Modelo and Budweiser products any time. It was a big let down after last year's event. Also, Groupon screwed up my voucher and didn't put the proper code. I tried to use the number under the bar code, but it didn't work. After speaking with a Groupon customer service rep, Groupon apparently didn't want to take responsibility, and made it Yaga's problem to deal with. Thankfully, Yaga's took care of me, but it was still a hassle that I shouldn't have had to deal with. I expect more from Groupon.

Not too bad a location. Down on the end, out of the crazy part. Very hard to find, no directions on the Groupon. Show up early, take lots of beads.

The address given was not correct. That address was not even on the parade route. Had to go into abYaga's store to ask where the event was being held. Fortunately, a manager was on duty as the store personnel did not know where the event was. Even then I was sent to the wrong location. It turned out there were two Yaga's locations. I walked back n forth between location Yaga's mgr told me to another location several times because at that original location, Gracie's, we were told my Groupon was not for that location. After missing about half the parade looking for the correct location, a police officer over heard my issue and volunteered to find where we should be. That officer escorted me and my date to the correct location. I would've never found it if not for that officer. Once we were being admitted the person taking the Groupon said there were a lot of people that had a hard time finding the location. Also I mistakenly rated my experience 4 stars I meant to rate it 3 stars due to this address issue and that we had missed half the parade by the time we got on the balcony.
