About Fitzgeralds Seafood

John Fitzgerald Hankins knew at an early age that he wanted to open a seafood restaurant. In 2009, he finally did just that, establishing Fitzgerald's Seafood along Rock Quarry Road and introducing many Raleigh residents to their new favorite hangout. Here, visitors feast upon calabash-style seafood, chopped barbecue, and sides of Brunswick stew and New England clam chowder. The menu's nautical bounty includes catfish, tilapia, flounder, and trout, and Southern favorites range from fried chicken to pork chops. Fitzgerald's also hosts a monthly weekend breakfast buffet, complete with bloody marys, mimosas, and tequila sunrises.

This place has top-notch fresh seafood. Really kids fall fresh cut. And their Brunswick stew is unlike any we've ever had before. Really good. San the wait staff and management are very attentive and so nice and cordial. Oh, good bush puppies too.

They advertise fresh fish daily but we went on a Tues. (they are closed on Monday) and they were out of flounder, scallops, and oysters! Food was good but portions were small.

Fitzgerald's has the best scallops I have ever had. Our flounder and shrimp were breaded just right and cooked perfectly. Their cole slaw is delicious. Their staff is very friendly.
