About Cape Pond Ice
Ordering ice from the factory used to be the only way to get a reliable stock of the cold stuff in one's home, outside of gravely insulting the sun. Founded in 1848, Cape Pond Ice dates back to that bygone era. Though today it produces festive ice sculptures, cinematic special effects, and uncommon liquor conveyances, the company also keeps true to its arctic roots by stocking block, bulk, and bagged ice. And Cape Pond Ice continues to cool its longest-running clients as well: Gloucester's fisherman, whose reliance on their services was outlined in Sebastian Junger's The Perfect Storm.

Tour was not organized well, we stood up to watch a video while the phone was ringing in the background and normal business calls were being answered, there was really nothing to see (lots of explaining about the ice but no demonstration or interactive elements (for instance it would have been nice to involve one of the workers to show us the tools they used to break the ice, process it, etc). We just walked to the room where the ice was produced though we couldn't see anything, walked into the freezer room which was practically empty, and then the dock where the employees didn't really engage in conversation, and then back to the office to watch more videos while the phone was ringing.
