If you are hoping to ride the tram early in the day, arrive early. It leaves every 30 minutes and books up! When using a Groupon, make sure you get a card for the tram. When we arrived at the tram for our assigned time we discovered we should have received one - some confusion when using a Groupon; it was handled by staff very quickly so we did not miss our ride.

don't go in the afternoon if it is hot the animals will all be sleeping.

Bring a picnic lunch and/or snacks as well as water. And a camera, lots of cool picture opportunities.
