Could never reach anyone to get a reservation and their site links to make a reservation only led to error pages.

I bought this TWO YEARS AGO!! I called MULTIPLE TIMES at DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE YEAR! and they were always booked and i rescheduled my tickets 3 times. I never redeemed my tickets and i never got my money back. HORRIBLE scheduling and HORRIBLE way to handle a business. 0/10 would not buy again...

This was a great experience with my daughter. It was a legitimate riding lesson, with additional teaching about proper horse grooming. Was sore the next day, but worth it!

This was the worst Groupon experience ever. I lost $90 for nothing here. I bought the Groupon and Maloney's never answered the phone to make it possible for me to make an appointment and redeem my Groupon. I wish I would have never purchased this deal and saved myself $90 that I lost for nothing.

Called multiple times to arrange the date and time for the class, left many messages, and never got a call back. Horrible service. Waste of money. So disappointed.

Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed! First, address took us to a different location and we spent 20 minutes looking for the place. Called, but only got voicemail, no help there. Also don't look for signs, there are NONE! The staff was not welcoming in any way and made me and my fiancé uncomfortable with the long awkward silences. We haven't ridden horses before and wanted to spend our four year anniversary riding horses on the ocean, not the experience you get. You have to clean the horse and its shoes, so don't wear your nice clothes (no mention of that in the three times I called). It is not a romantic wine dine and picnic, as it seems to be portrayed on the groupon site. Wouldn't recommend it to any friends or family. Try some place where you actually get to take the horse on a trail, not ride in circles in a small arena with unfriendly people!!

From Our Editors

At Maloney's Horses and Ponies, majestic steeds graze and buck in open pastures backed by a landscape of picturesque rolling hills and whispering ocean waves. Standing in the sea breeze is Cheryl Maloney, the proprietor and head riding instructor. Before opening her school, Cheryl taught throughout the United States and England, most recently directing the Stanford Riding School for 12 years. She is joined by fellow instructors Sara Williams, Sarah Platshon, and Jack Gosse-Fuchs; together, the team leads lessons in English-style riding for students of all ages and skill levels.

During lessons, students learn the fundamentals of riding—from sitting in a basic balancing position to standing while singing the horse anthem—along with necessary horsemanship skills such as grooming and tacking. The lessons take place in Maloney's all-weather back sand arena, where picturesque ocean views frame a colorful jumping course, and a front arena dedicated to dressage and flat exercises. The school also has access to more than 7 miles of beach trails that lead riders on explorations of the bluffs or trots down to the surf. The school also boards horses, sells and leases new mounts, and holds summer camps for riders up to 15 years old.
