New York Lizards Lacrosse, Hempstead

In 2001, the inaugural season for Major League Lacrosse, the Long Island Lizards finished with the best record in their division and went on to defeat the rival Chesapeake Bayhawks to win the first Steinfeld Cup Championship. The Lizards proved to be just as strong in their 2003 season, winning the Steinfeld Cup for a second time after again beating the Chesapeake Bayhawks in the title game. Now known as the New York Lizards, the team has made the playoffs eight times in the past 14 years—culminating in a third championship win in 2015—and is looking forward to defending the crown. Led by 2015 Goalie of the year Drew Adams, 2016 Offensive player of the year Rob Pannell, and two-time MVP and eight-time MLL All-Star Paul Rabil, the Lizards look to continue their winning tradition in 2018.
