My wife and I have been enjoying Longwood's exquisite gardens and eloquent displays for many years.

My rating of three stars for Longwood Gardens was partially affected by the time of year (September). Aside from the Orchid room and a large display of cut Dahlias (from a competition?) in another area, there were almost no flowers in bloom. That, of course, is just nature and not the fault of Longwood Gardens. Their gardens and fountains are beautiful...without a doubt. However,... Longwood Gardens' admission is $28 per adult. That is a more palatable fee in springtime when their gardens are bursting with color and fragrance OR in December when every area of the grounds and building interiors appear to be decorated. But, in September, that fee is steep. Longwood Gardens is quite aware of what they are able to "display" at any particular time of year...maybe their admission prices could be set appropriately.

Beautiful, timeless and fortunate to have such a wonderful place only 40min away. Truly a gem and made it to my top 5 places to visit in Pennsylvania. There is something for everyone from the tree houses to the gardens, French inspired gardens, fountain to the spectacular green house and the dancing fountain show that emulated fire works... we will be visiting again.

Amazing gardens and we enjoyed the day very much.
