Fox-Tail Cider, Hood River

OK it started with the wrong address on the groupon. We went to the address listed and it was a clothing store. We called and the person on the phone informed us that location closed in May?? We just bought this and it was supposed to be close to where my FIL wanted to have breakfast. She seemed a little snippy and said just come to the location you called and hung up. Ok fair enough. There were four of us so we had the two 10 sample flights. The cider was awful! Seriously I was not DD for a change so I was actually able to drink as much as I wanted. I had like one sip of each and was like nopeity nope nope. The rest of our group felt the same way. We took our "free" to go cider (because they were out of glasses and we didn't want a pint to drink there) I doubt we will ever drink it and if we do we may spike it with sprite or something to get rid of the Grandma perfume taste. I felt awful because this was a birthday gift to my Father in Law who as a rule loves cider. Honestly was not worth even the discount price

The venue was nice, a bit small inside (probably only seats about 10 people), fortunately the sun was out so visitors could sit outside. The staff were friendly and helpful and quickly got us our flight of samples. And here is why I rated only 3 stars.....almost all the ciders had this soapy taste to them. There were only 2 out of the 12 ciders that didn't smell and taste of soap. Maybe it was the kind of apples they use or part of the process. But funnily enough, after I used the restroom, my wife immediately pointed out that my hands smelled like the cider. So we gave them all a try, played some of the 5+ games they had available, and had an ok time. When it was time to collect our pint and souvenir glass, they told us they had run out of glasses but would gladly give us a growler can in place. I would have preferred the glass, but oh well. Finally, a minor thing, the location they give on Groupon is downtown Hood River, but they are actually located about 5-10 minutes up the road to Mt. Hood. Took us a little while to figure out and locate it.

Beautiful place, very friendly and loved the cider! Also bought blue berry vodka

Wonderful service, yummy one with CarMel and Grahms, my hubby's favorite was the cherry cide. Got a few pints to bring home
