Mimi/mimiegh seems to be generally knowledgeable about proper mani/pedi service. She is very cordial, hospitable, and professional in communication. However she is not professional in her service. This service (initially unbeknownst to me) was actually done in a small room in her rather unkempt apartment. The apartment smelled of smoke and what I believe was Marijuana. The room had a folding chair in which I sat and a plastic bin lined with a trashbag in which I soaked my feet. Her two year old disrupted the entire process, dumping different materials in my foot soak and even drinking it (right before mom sent her out). Her husband came home, cursed throughout the time, and loudly disciplined the 2year old in the next room, threatening with his belt. Mimi, possibly due to all the distractions of her child, forgot to put a topcoat on my manicure, sugarscrub my feet, and lotion my feet. The service also ended up taking almost 30min longer than her estimated time, probably also due to the distractions. I stayed throughout the service believing that although the atmosphere was very unfavorable, I would at least leave with nice nails. However, the nails have some defects. My manicure began to chip the same day and my mani and pedi have small stray dots/lines making it look messy and unprofessional. This could have been due to the dim lighting in the room and again, the many distractions of her child. I believe if Mimi had a professional setting to do her work, without her child there, she would do a lot better, and her positive attitude and personable nature would make way for her. It is unfortunate that this experience was very disappointing.
