That's because the bakery uses as few premade ingredients as possible; when making sweet-potato pie, the bakers pick out sweet potatoes at the farmers' market, bake them, and skin them rather than buying a readymade can, the owner told Creative Loafing. That devotion to high-quality ingredients carries through all of their offerings, from dainty pastries to multilayered wedding cakes draped in fondant, as well as gourmet cheesecakes and booze-infused cupcakes.

The man that took my order did not want to be bothered or didn't have time. The groupon pictured a pretty flower on top and I was charged 19.00 dollars to add the flower. I asked for the one pictured on the groupon and got something different they did not treat me like they wanted me to come back.

The cupcakes were great but they are only open via appointment right now and the website didn't take my order correctly. They were great to work with but only because I called to confirm. Just found it to be a bit inconvieniant and stressful.

The owner and his beautiful daughter assisted me in making cupcake selections. He even went upstairs to ice another cupcake for me. They all were moist and tasty! My favorite was the double chocolate (perfect chocolaty sweetness!), next the white chocolate raspberry, yummy white chocolate icing and cake w/raspberry preserves in the middle, next would be the red velvet, moist cake and good cream cheese frosting. The carrot cake could have used a couple more nuts and a tad less sweet frosting (prob. me!?) Overall, excellent choice to support a local, family-run business in quaint side of Cornelius.
