A bin from Green BEAN Delivery is the most delicious piece of mail most people receive all week. That's because each bin from the family-owned company—whose name is an acronym for biodynamic, education, agriculture, and nutrition—contains a custom selection of organic produce, fresh-baked breads, cage-free eggs, and other groceries. It's all part of the company's effort to make healthy, sustainably grown food more accessible and affordable. Their innovative efforts have been featured in The Chronicle of Mt.Juliet and WSMV.com.
Here's how it works: each week, the selection of available produce changes based on the season and Green BEAN's network of regional farmers. Customers then go online to personalize the contents of their deliveries by selecting from a list of 40 to 50 items, as well as from special sections for vegetarian, vegan, kosher, and gluten-free diets. Orders are meticulously packed in sturdy, reusable green bins along with an insulated liner, ice packs and recyclable paper or plastic bags. The insulated and chilled bins can keep cold for up to 8 hours. Delivery is free, and is assigned based on community location with delivery times typically falling between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m.
