the entrance and exit from pure gym is annoying especially when there is a lot people coming in and out you have to wait 10 minutes to exit or enter. what if the pods malfunction your stuck give me a break inside cheapness not to hire a front desk and the regular price is not cheap if it was not for the Groupon I would not join.

PureGym has bought Blink, and is “upgrading” their gyms to a different model. The thing is though, I used to belong to this same Blink on Flatbush for years and paid $10 a month. PureGym has now put some paint on the place (weird greenish color) and added some “new”/used machines (some are new, some just newly added, many the same). It’s not any cleaner, there are split cushions on some of the machines and missing belts on the spin bikes and the bathrooms have not been redone at all, though they say they will soon. And you now have to walk through a weird pod security tube sine now it’s open 24/7. I was happy to get this year long deal for $199 because that worked out to $16 a month which is obviously a lot more than $10 a month for the same gym essentially but less than their lowest $299 (!) yearly membership. I haven’t found that much has really improved except a couple different newer machines and 24/7 access. But it’s the cheapest gym you can get near here, just way more than it used to cost for pretty much the same basic no frills quality. Friendly staff which is nice 👍
