Had an awesome time! I would recommend long sleeves. You end up sweating a lot and I doubt that bubbles are very easy to clean and sanitize between uses. The ref (whose name escapes me now) was great. He even was kind enough to wear my GoPro to take some close shoots. Definitely looking forward to doing it again and definitely would use the same company.

The actual soccer was great fun, but too many things were wrong to give a thumbs up. Location changed last minute, we weren't told we would share our time with another group alternating field use every 5 min (which was okay for breaks, but poor communication), bubbles were deflating and needing to be blown back up often, and started 30 minutes late. 3 other groups were in same frustrating position as we were, and everyone was remarkably nice and accommodating. It could have been ugly though with such poor communication.

It's so much fun! 1. Dress comfortably. You may get some knee abrasions when trying to get up while in the bubble--so it helped that I wore sports pants that were long enough to cover my knees. 2. You may have sore upper arms and maybe even thighs the next day or so. Bring at least an 8 people party to make it fun. 3. Confirm with the company the day before where the location is. My party showed up at Heritage Park when in fact the location was moved to Garden Grove. I was not called beforehand. Staff was apologetic and gave us some extra play time at the end.

It's a lot of fun but make sure to ask if another group is scheduled at the same time as yours. :-/

For your top wear short sleeve or a tank, it gets extremely hot when you're in the bubble So definitely bring water because you'll be sweating after the first quarter

A lot of fun! 4 min quarters is enough to get you tired and needing a quick break.

From Our Editors

Have you ever looked at a bounce house and thought, "that would make a fantastic outfit?" If so, here's the game for you: bubble soccer. This new sport that's literally rolling across the nation straps its players inside a human-size bubble suit, enclosing everything but their feet and sense of adventure. Bubble Soccer Orange County brings this sport to the West Coast, setting up games where teams bump, push, and tackle their way to the goal—all while bubble suits provide each with a soft landing.

  • Ways to play: rent the suits for a private game, sign up for one of the weekend games at local parks, or join a league.
  • The rules are a lot like regular soccer, with some exceptions. For example, there isn't a dedicated goalkeeper, and gameplay stops if the ball winds up inside a person's bubble.
  • It's almost as fun to watch. Check out these videos for a sample of what to expect.
