About Kansas City Wine Gala and Ultimate Wine Run

Though there's plenty of wine around, The Kansas City Wine Gala and Ultimate Wine Run is hardly a hoity toity affair. Prior to the festivities of the Gala getting underway, runners of all levels are welcome to participate in the Ultimate Wine Run, with both 5K and 1K options available. Those who choose the long course receive a 5 oz. pour in a branded Ultimate Wine Run glass, while 1K participants sample a 2 oz. wine tasting. But that's just the beginning of the celebration. A live DJ spins tunes during the post-race party, which features activities including mechanical bull riding and sumo suit wrestling. The International Wine Tour offers partiers wines from 10 different countries, and former Kansas City Chiefs star wide receiver, Eddie Kennison, joins in on the fun.
