I already love visiting my local museum but this made it affordable to go to the special exhibits! Beautiful!

It is always worth a trip to see The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. If you do not wish to pay for inside parking, you can park on a surrounding street and walk in, just be aware of the days the Nelson is open! I thoroughly enjoyed the special showing of Thomas Hart Benton and then I spent some time sketching a sculpture in a different section of the museum. There are stools in different areas that you can use to sit upon while drawing with pencils only! The guard I talked to about the location of the stools actually went and got a stool for me and put it back when I was done sketching! I always see something new whenever I go to the Nelson. And don't forget to browse their gift shop.

Loved the Thomas Hart Benson Exhibit. The collection was magnificent! I really enjoyed eating lunch in the courtyard. The food was delicious. The staff at the museum and in the courtyard were very courteous and helpful. I always love going the the Nelson Art Gallery. It is truly a Kansas City treasure!
