48 North Restaurant, Kelowna

Was suppose to be a wonderful Birthday dinner and we made reservations, when we show up we are told they are not serving alcohol because they had not received their new alcohol license in the mail. Meanwhile while we are waiting for our food the police and fire department show up removing all their booze!!! Besides us there was only one other couple in this restaurant - I guess so hey!!! The food was not good, my steak was cold and tasteless, the pop was flat, the other food served was not that great especially for the prices they charge. I would never go back here again, ever!!!! What a disappointing birthday dinner it was. If we had not had the groupon we would have left and went somewhere else!

I would have ticked all four of the above if it allowed. the place was empty it took awhile for our server to come to our table. No decaf coffee so we ordered tea which was just warm. they have a very limited and un intersting menu. More like pub fair. I orderred a chicken ceasar salad which was four or five whole romaine leaves with a bit of dressing dripled over and hardly any parmesan. It took me five minutes to cut it into bite size pieces. My husband ordered fish and chips which was verry greasy, making one think the oil was old. we would not recommend this palce or ever go again. We did leave a tip for the waitress as she may not have a job soon. There were several uniformed cops making serval trips packing out all their liquor. Seemed a little suspicious!

Disappointed in the 48 North Burger. On the menu it sounded very saucy and tasty. It was actually not very good------ dry bun, and no moist, tasty sauce as I had expected. Also, the fries were not uniformly good. Pretty disappointing for $16.

Reservation for 6 pm on a Sat evening in Dec. Great service and food was good - nicely presented.
