Curry sauces of red, gold, and green add color to white ceramic dishes at Mon Thong Thai Restaurant. Chefs trained in Bangkok slice peppers into primary-colored strips, sear cuts of beef, and stir heaps of taste bud-illuminating curry into their masterpieces. Spicy or mild, the ingredients unite to create big flavors, with herb- and spice-laced noodles, seafood, and coconut rice all making appearances on the menu.
Mon Thong has three locations, and the latest, on Ellis Street, boasts an all-white interior accented by marble tabletops and elegantly simple wall designs. Such clean décor encourages the food's bright hues to pop with their vibrancy—unlike a snowman hitching a ride on the back of a mail truck.
