With all the physical stimuli we’re exposed to day in and day out, it’s no surprise that we need relief. This is where Float Therapy steps in, armed with float tanks to improve both mental and physical health. The lightless, soundless tank is filled with 12 inches of body-temperature water that is loaded with 1,200 pounds of sea salt, enabling you to feel nothing at all, including no definable skin boundaries. Inside, the body is completely and evenly supported, giving the sensation of defying gravity while freeing it from external stimuli. The sensation, combined with the complete lack of external stimulation, can help floaters ease into deeper meditative states for increased relaxation.
Beyond soothing the mind, the lack of gravitational pressure lulls muscles and joints into full relaxation, which can temporarily relieve pain from arthritis or strained muscles. It can also open the circulatory system, allowing blood to flow more freely with less work from the heart. During sessions, pulse rates also generally slow, complimenting meditation.
