From Our Editors
In our year-round classes in indoor, heated pools, the highly qualified instructors at British Swim School teach independent swimming skills to learners aged 3 months through adults. They adhere to a curriculum devised by British national swimmer Rita Goldberg. The 30-minute small-group lessons with 4-6 swimmers, develop essential techniques for water safety, survival and swimming. Our survival levels, which introduce students to the aquatic environment and focus on water safety, include Tadpole - ages 3 months–3 years with parents in the pool, Swimboree - ages 18–35 years months with parents in the pool, Seahorse - ages 18-35 months with parents on the pool deck, Minnow - ages 3 years and up without parents, Starfish for children over 3 that have fear of the water, and Turtle One which prepares students for learning the four basic strokes. Our swimming levels include Turtle Two classes which focus on freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke maneuvers, honing more structured swimming skills in older kiddos. British Swim School's Shark courses enhance stamina and speed and teach even more demanding strokes, such as the butterfly. We also offer Adult Beginner and Adult Skills classes in small groups as well.
