Great experience if you using Groupon to buy tires brakes and oil changes are a little unknown

I purchased this Groupon to receive $150 towards my brake replacement and rotor resurfacing. I made an appointment with this auto shop where I gave my year make and model of my car. I was quoted $229 which included the replacement brakes, resurfacing my rotors, and labor. When I arrived I presented the Groupon and the same person that I spoke over the phone with informed me that in order to use this Groupon the charge would be for this promotion which was $279.00 for the exact same service. Nothing had changed as far as parts or labor. The only thing that had changed was the fact that I had a Groupon. They are definitely scammers! If I was not knowledgeable about how much the average charge for this was then I would have been screwed. This was a horrible experience where I was charged more for the service simply for having this Groupon. I dint save any money using this Groupon as it came out to the same price as if I didn't have this voucher. They were extremely rude and told me repeatedly that I was saving $150 when in fact I paid the same price if I didn't use the Groupon. I always use Groupon for my car maintenance needs, but this experience, I will never use Groupon again. There is no protection for users after the voucher is printed.
