Design & Dine, Las Vegas

On any given night, it's hard to tell whether Design & Wine is hosting a painting class or a party. Apron-clad artists can browse a menu for made-to-order vegetarian or pescetarian sandwiches, chat and eat, and then return to their easels, where they chat and paint. This is the typical experience at Design & Wine, where every painting class equals a chatty social event. Instructors work with guests of every experience level, furnishing them with 16"x20" prestretched canvases, nontoxic acrylic paints, brushes, easels, and aprons before leading step-by-step instruction in re-creating the evening's featured painting. Students may also venture into their own projects should inspiration strike or gently knock on their cerebrums. Come the end of the night, instructors encourage students to tote their work home and replace their very expensive televisions with it.
