In this digital age, everyone has the ability to snap photographs, share them instantly, and save them on their computer or burn them to a CD
However, those photos are quickly lost to cyberspace or stored on a disc never to be seen again. Even worse, a laptop or iPhone may get stolen, but rarely will someone take photo albums or personal portraits off the wall! Lakewood Photography, LLC is a studio that specializes in custom wall art and printed portraiture. We are dedicated to creating works of art designed to capture a moment in time that your family will cherish on a daily basis.
Our studio is located on Main Street in historic League City, TX
Our proximity to several parks, gardens, and Galveston beach allows us to capture beautiful portraits in outdoor settings.
The studio is open Monday through Friday, 9am 3pm. Evenings, Saturdays, and Holidays by appointment only.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Full payment of session fee is required at the time of booking to reserve your time on the calendar.
Portrait Planning Consultations
In order to provide an enjoyable and satisfying portrait experience, consultations are recommended prior to most sessions and are required for family portrait sessions. During this 30 minute consultation, the photographer will work with you to make sure that on the day of your portrait session, you and your family will be ready to capture the moment in the best way possible in order to create portraits that you will all enjoy for many years.
Sessions are scheduled for weekday mornings and afternoons. Appointments for sessions located off-site or on evenings, Saturdays, or holidays are available on a limited basis and a premium will be added to the session fee. Payment is required at the time that you schedule your session. Please try to arrive 10 minutes early to your session so that you can get comfortable and we can begin on time. If you are late to your session, we will do our best to capture the perfect photograph(s) in the time that you have remaining.
Viewing Images from your session
Included in your session fee is a single proofing appointment which will be scheduled for viewing your photographs and making your purchasing decision. We ask that you bring all of the people involved in this decision to this appointment. Our photographer will guide you through the process, help with questions, and make suggestions. We do ask that all of your order decisions are made during this review time. If you require additional time and schedule a new appointment to make your final purchasing decisions, there will be an additional fee. Because review appointments must be prepared for in advance by our staff, 24 hours notice is requested to cancel or reschedule your review.
Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance do I need to schedule my portrait session?
Our schedule typically fills up 2-4 weeks in advance, depending on the season. All appointments and sessions are on a first come basis and require full payment of session fee at the time of scheduling.
How long is a portrait session?
Each session is designed for the needs of our clients. Typically, our sessions run between ten minutes for our busy executives and ninety minutes for newborns. You can expect about forty-five minutes for a family session.
What should I/we wear to our portrait session?
Your personal style will be reflected in your portraits. During your portrait planning consultation, you will discuss your preferences and vision for your portraits with the photographer. This will help you decide what to wear for your portrait session.
Do you offer portrait packages?
Most clients find they prefer to purchase a la carte portraits to suit their specific needs. However, we do realize that some clients may prefer to choose from pre-bundled packages and offer those beginning at $495.
How much is an 8×10?
The price of an 8×10 portrait varies depending on the type of portrait session scheduled and the retouching work necessary. On average, most clients spend about $300-600 on children's portraits, $500-800 for senior portraits, and $700-900 for family portraits.
Do you provide digital copies of sessions?
Here at Lakewood, we value the permanence of printed portraiture and specialize in creating custom wall art. Though our business model and pricing reflect this philosophy, we do sell digital files on occasion.
How many images do I receive on a disc?
Because we put our heart and soul into each and every portrait and only sell refined images, not every image from your session is available. Images purchased on a disc are priced at a per-image amount.
How long does it take to receive my completed portrait order?
You can expect your finished portraits to be available for pick up in the studio approximately four weeks from the date your order is finalized. Occasionally, additional time is required to process and receive your order back in-house.
Is it possible to receive my portraits sooner than four weeks after placing my order?
Yes, we can make arrangements to place a rush on your order for an additional fee.
Do you provide retouching services?
Minor retouching is included in the price of our products and full payment of the order is required prior to images being sent to retouching. Excessive or complicated requests can be accepted, but may incur a retouching fee of $95/hour billed in fifteen minute increments at the discretion of studio management.
What if I have to reschedule my portrait session?
We understand that sometimes life happens and you may not be able to make it to your scheduled portrait session. However, we do require a 48 hour notice in the event that you need to reschedule your session.
Is it possible to order additional prints after the original order is placed?
Please keep in mind when placing your initial order that prices are subject to change without notice. In the event that you need to reorder additional prints or portraits, they will be available at the prevailing price. Accessing images more than 12 months old may incur an archive retrieval fee which may be applied to subsequent print orders.
For how long does Lakewood Photography, LLC keep images on file?
Image files are kept on our server for 90 days to allow ample time to make your selections and complete your purchases. While we may store files longer, we cannot guarantee that images will be available after the 90 day period. Please plan on making all of your selections at your review session. All images that are purchased will remain archived and will not be purged from the server.
What happens when a hurricane threatens our area?
Our studio is located in a mandatory evacuation zone. In the event that a hurricane evacuation order is issued, we will communicate with clients to pick up products and reschedule appointments prior to closing the studio. Studio closure procedures will begin immediately following the evacuation order to allow our employees to prepare their homes for evacuation.
