Great Sushi! Amazing Combo Fried Rice for Two! Tons of food. Good place!
The female server either did not speak English or rather just a very unhappy no smiles kind of person. Either way the service was not so good. At the end of our meal I gave her my group on code to run. She tried saying we could only use for a reservation. We were the only table in the whole place. As we were leaving there were other tables that had come in for dinner. She ended up taking our group on, begrudgingly and was still very inattentive borderline just rude. Not to mention they were out of the mussels again. No, I will not be back.
Place appeared dingy and service wasn't fast or attentive.
We were told they didn't have liquor when I ordered a martini. Then they couldn't do the Seafood Ramen because they didn't make the noodles. The food was ok, but my dumpling soup was so incredibly full of pepper I couldn't eat much.
The food was very good and plentiful; the service was also very good but, at 6:15pm on a Thursday, we were the only customers in the restaurant.
If you have a Goupon you better use it now. It appears Japanese' Kitchen won't be in business much longer. Worst dining experience ever.
For a party of more than 3 - 4 people, plan 2 hours for dinner if you are dining Hibachi-style. To do this correctly, the food prep and 'show' are fairly lengthy. But we had a very enjoyable time and a delicious meal.
If there is a zero star out of 5 stars, that will be my rating for this restaurant.
The food was really good. Our waiter & hibachi cook were friendly and efficient. All groupon users must call first to make a reservation. At time of reservation you are informed of the Mandatory 18% Gratuity added to all groupon users check, regardless of party size. I have 2 complaints with this. First, this should have been stated before purchase of groupon. Second, mandatory 18% Gratuity (even for party of 2) takes away from the incentive to provide good service! Fortunately for us, because of the good food & service we received, my husband & I plan on returning in the future. Next we will try the $15.99 sushi buffet on Sat/Sun between 12-3, at the suggestion of our waiter.
There was not enough staff on hand to service the customers properly. Food was OK but not spectacular. They seemed unorganized at best.
From Our Editors
Though the interior of Japanese' Kitchen takes a modern approach to traditional Asian décor, its lunch and dinner menus are filled with authentic Japanese cuisine. On traditional hibachi grills, chefs-turned-showmen sizzle morsels of marinated chicken, NY strip steak, and lobster alongside fresh vegetables. At the sushi bar, maki-makers hand craft spicy tuna, tempura shrimp, and California rolls in a less flashy display. For more unique flavors, Japanese' Kitchen’s serves up appetizers of tempura-fry calamari and cap meals with desserts such as housemade crème brulee infused with green tea and cream harvested from the brulee tree. Japanese' Kitchen also stocks a selection of imported Japanese drinks including Echigo Koshi Hikari rice lager, Junmai sake, and Ramune orange soda.
