This escape room is the worst I've ever been to.
First, I went with a group of 13-year olds. When I dropped them off, I specifically asked if they needed an adult present. I was informed by the son of the owner that it was fine. I left to run a quick errand and hadn't quite arrived at my destination 5 minutes away when I got a call from the kids that they wouldn't let them go without an adult present. I turned right around to return and got a frantic call from the kids again that the owner wouldn't let them participate at all if I wasn't back in 5 minutes. That made no sense. I understand that every experience gets one hour, but what difference should it make to him if they get 20 minutes, 30 minutes or 60 minutes
When I returned, he was incredibly rude to me, attempting to shame me for leaving a group of well-behaved 13 year old kids after asking if it was OK. The irony--when I came back, he said it didn't matter if i even went into the room with them.
But I did--I sat there. The room itself is best and tired. The owner STAYED IN THE ROOM THE ENTIRE TIME, despite me suggesting that he could leave since I was in there. He gave the kids the most over "clues" ever--pretty much giving everything away without giving them a chance to figure it out. When a I told him not to do that, he said only one group out of 500 can figure it out without his help. So maybe the game sucks?
The kids got through the game 35 minutes into the session and they ALL agreed it was horrible, especially in comparison to other sites that do the same thing. It was not fun for them because they weren't given the chance to solve the clues. What a huge waste and frustration.
Do not recommend at all.
Such a fun time...we can't wait to visit them again once they're permanent location is finished!
I would've enjoyed it if it was just my group. We were in the room with another family with kids who kept running in front of us and not letting anyone else do any of the clues. They were very rude and I feel like I wasted my money because the kids in my group didn't get to do hardly anything.
It was great. We had so much fun.The owners were very friendly. I've done other escape rooms and this one was definitely more fun. It's supposed to be geared for the younger crowd but it took all 4 of us to get out of the room. One adult, two teenagers and a tween.. Don't think that because it's for 10+ that this will be a cakewalk for adults. I LOVED that they could type onto a screen in the room giving hints if you need them. I can't wait to check out their new place.
It was good clean fun. My 7 year old was able to participate and solve clues, but it was also challenging enough for 12 year olds. The adults had fun too! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a family activity with their kids!
Great experience! Owners are very nice. Would definitely recommend!
I have 2 teenagers and a 9 year old, and it is hard to find something for us all to do together because of the age differences. This was perfect. Thank you!
Fantastic experience for kids!!
I was a great experience. My whole family loved it. We really had to do some thinking. So much fun.
So much fun! The owners there played along with us and made the experience so much better! It was 10 adults and we all had a blast.
From Our Editors
Escapes rooms are becoming a popular activity for adults to do together, but the themes tend to skew mature, focusing on inescapable horror situations such as zombie apocalypses, murder dungeons, or DMV lines. What if the kids want to try their hand at solving puzzles, too? To address that, Family Escape Room has designed its escape rooms specifically for tweens ages 10+, crafting fun scenarios that unleash families' latent creativity in service of sniffing out clues, puzzling out riddles, and ferreting out hidden keys. The kid-friendly challenges give youngsters a chance to learn all sorts of valuable skills, including how to work as a team, communicate clearly, and think through a problem rather than always asking the grouchy old neighbor for help.
