Green Jean Kids, Long Beach

What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
Green Jean Kids is a local 501c3 non profit that allows parents to swap out the clothes that their children have outgrown, and get ones that fit. We also sponsor families with children in distress. We also partner with Head Start LA to provide clothing to their preschool program.

What is the experience customers can expect?
Green Jean Kids offers a fun shopping experience for both parents and children! We have a play area for the kids to hang out while moms and dads pick out clothes. Being a non profit we are completely donation based so our inventory is changing on a daily basis based on what other families bring in.

What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
As a mother of two, I know first hand how fast children grow. When you have children of both genders, you just can't pass down clothes. I wanted to create a program that didn't make a growth spurt so expensive for parents. If we come together as a community to recycle clothes, everyone benefits.

What do you love most about your job?
I love making a difference in childrens' lives. Seeing a little girl so excited to get a big poofy dress her parents other wise wouldn't have been able to get her, or helping the little boy who has had to wear his sisters hand me downs because his parents couldn't afford to buy him clothes.
