I really wanted to like this place, because it's close to my house. The decor is bright and welcoming, and the servers were really nice. The food was the worst I've ever eaten at a restaurant. I got the Amalia Plata, to be able to try several things. For $19, the portions were MINISCULE. The chorizo was a 2" piece. The pork adobado was horrible; it was a very small piece of pork, and what wasn't gristle and fat was like chewing shoe leather. The carne asada tasted good, but was also tough. The food came out 2 minutes after I ordered, so it obviously wasn't cooked fresh. The food tasted like it had been sitting. The rice was good. The sauces for the tortilla chips were good, but the tortilla chips were really greasy.

Expect me back for more. However, in the large combo plate ($19 and enough for 2 average eaters) i would suggest you offer the cheese chile relleno as an option/alternative to the meat one. It would add variety to the other 3 meaty flavors. That said, the carne asada and the grilled pork were delicious.

There's parking in the back; don't pay for the meter in front.

The little house is attractive and very cozy, and the patio looks inviting. This place feels so good, and the service is so caring, I'm sure to return soon, Groupon or not!
