When she's taking portraits, Laura Casner draws upon her fine-art sensibilities to artfully immerse her subjects within the space around them. Her sessions, which are ideal for headshots and model portfolios, result in crisp, striking images that convey their personality. People aren't her only subjects though. "The vastness and forbidding beauty in landscapes quite often overwhelm me," Laura says. But instead of allowing that emotion to completely take over, the photographer experiments with space and perspective to capture the nuances of her surroundings, from a worn, toppled-over fence guarding a summer house along a windy beach to craggy mountain peaks rising above a still lake.
