Vegin' Out's executive chef, Brian Patton, knows veganism inside and out. He's written on the topic for The New York Times, and penned an entire cookbook on it, The Sexy Vegan Cookbook: Extraordinary Food from an Ordinary Dude. Even also blogs under the tongue-in-cheek moniker The Sexy Vegan and stars in YouTube videos such as this whimsical ukulele ode to bacon.
When he's not busy being a vegan celebrity, Brian whips up a rotating selection of vegan dishes at Vegin' Out, ranging from whole-wheat penne with veggies to black bean tamale pie. Customers receive his handiwork in weekly vegetarian and vegan food packages, delivered straight to their homes or offices every Monday. Meals are kept cold in insulated cooler bags with ice packs allowing food to stay fresh even if the client is not home to receive the delivery. A single-meal package yields 9 to 10 meals, and Chef Brian can tailor dishes to gluten sensitivities, allergies, or fears that potatoes with two eyes count as animals.
